As an open source oriented company, we believe in the power of community. We developed LimeExchange to provide our customers with an environment in which they can interact with each other and collaborate on projects – either as a buyer or a provider. We are the only hosting company that offers all of its customers the opportunity to earn additional income as a developer.
Describe your target market?
Our target market is anyone that wants to get something done on the web – from novice users to professional developers. We’ve gone to great lengths to make open source apps more accessible and easy to get up and running with no prior experience or programming knowledge required. As the same time, our platform is very flexible – if you are a developer, you can modify and customize any of the apps in our catalog to meet your needs.
How is your company planning for the future?
We’re constantly trying to make it easier to get a website up and running. One gap we’ve noticed in the open source web application space is in on-line website builders. There’s an app to build almost any type of specific website – a blog, an e-commerce site, an image gallery, etc… but there’s no open source tool for building a general purpose website.
We plan to fill this void by developing our own open source web development tool – LimeBits. The tool is just about to enter a beta testing phase, and you can actually check it out right now at www.limebits.com - free of charge. We plan to make LimeBits available to all of our customers as a free feature.
We’re also continually adding to our library of web apps as new solutions become available, and plan to more than double the number of free apps in the catalog over the next few months.
